Artistic Exhibits & Gallery TourMeet Central Texas’ finest landscape and western artists displaying their work through the eight galleries located in the downtown district. Self-guided tour maps are available at the reception area. The Inn can arrange for invitations to artist receptions, gallery opening exhibits, and art workshops that are occurring during your stay.

 

Bike Tour of Historic Salado

Inn on the Creek - Bike TourBring your mountain bikes and discover historic remnants of the Chisholm Trail at your pace on a self-guided tour. The Chisholm Trail came up Main Street, and the stage lines that served Central Texas included Salado among their stops. One can still see wagon wheel ruts and remnants from the old Salado College.

Annual Wildflower Art Show, Saturday, March 27, 2010
The Village of Salado, Texas announces the seventh annual Wildflower Art Show, to be held Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th. Stroll under the oak trees on the grounds of the historical Salado Civic Center as you enjoy the original works of the artists and craftsmen in a wide range of media.

Salado Art Fair, Saturday and Sunday, August 07-08, 2010

Featuring over 130 artists and artisans from Texas and throughout the Southwest. Free parking throughout the village.

Chocolate & Art Festival, September 24th, 25th, & 26th, 2010

The Village of Salado hits a sweet spot with weekend getaway fans. For those who believe the four basic food groups consist of white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and truffles...the ‘Expressions of Good Taste’ Chocolate & Art Festival is one event not to be missed.

Christmas in October Friday & Saturday, October 8-9 2010 9am-5pm

Continuing a tradition that has been in place for over three decades, the Salado Chamber of Commerce Ladies Auxiliary and local merchants will host their annual Christmas in October Celebration on October 9th & 10th. This event has something for everyone. The community comes alive with early Holiday shopping, informal style shows, entertainment, a giant bake sale, vintage car show, and refreshments. Even Mr. and Mrs. Claus won't be able to resist the opportunity to visit. Admission, parking, light refreshments and all events are free.
